Donated by the Menlo Fire Department in California, the former Menlo Park Engine 1 will replace the Maui Fire Department’s Engine 1 that was lost during the fire in Lahaina on Aug. 8. The engine was given the name “Pilina,” which refers to a relationship or coming together, highlighting the special bond forged between the two communities, the Maui Fire Department said.
