Bill would increase Idaho's minimum wage to $12 by 2021

BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) A bill introduced at the Idaho Legislature would boost Idaho's minimum wage by several dollars in 2021. House Bill 55, introduced by State Rep. Sue Chew (D-Boise), would increase the state's minimum wage of $7.25 an hour to $8.25 an hour by July 1 of this year.

House Bill 55, introduced by State Rep. Sue Chew (D-Boise), would increase the state's minimum wage of $7.25 an hour to $8.25 an hour by July 1 of this year.

It would then increase up to $10.50 by July 1 2020 and then to $12 and hour by 2021.

For workers who earn tips, the bill would increase base bay from $3.35 an hour to $4.35 this year and then up to $7.35 an hour.

Workers making minimum wage in our neighboring states are earning $10.75 an hour Oregon and $12 an hour in Washington state.
