SALMON, Idaho (CBS2) — Fire crews are working to contain the Hayden Fire burning in the Salmon-Challis National Forest.
The Hayden Fire was detected burning in the upper part of Hayden Creek on Wednesday and is an estimated 400 acres so far. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
One fire crew is already working on the fire, and three others are expected to arrive on Thursday.
Fire crews expect isolated thunderstorms in the area on Thursday with little to no rain with gusty winds.
Fire managers ask everyone to keep their distance if you plan to recreate in the area and allow firefighters to do their jobs safely and efficiently.
Crews say their biggest priority is the safety of the responders and the public.
